Opinion. Do you think saddlebag guards mess with the lines of the bike?

They are actually $229 from HD.... much cheaper than a bag...

Of course, with the bag guards, you have to buy a set upfront, and then if you do end up dropping the bike, the guard on the one side is going to get all scratched up (and possibly bent)... So then you'll wind up spending another $229 for another set of bag guards.

Still cheaper than a bag... plus IF dropped... you only scuff the bar... easier to live with than jacked up paint on a bag

I get it. It's just that when comparing cost, people tend to leave out the fact that you have to buy the bars twice

only if you can't live with a small scuff on the bar... most of the time its easy to live with, knowing they work

These are the best insurance you can get to save those stock bags. Buying them twice is still cheaper then 1 new bag color matched from Harley' Have heard this story over and over again but at one point or another you will lay the bike over for some stupid reason be it in the driveway garage or some random gravel parking lot. Have seen several people forget to put the kickstand down so it happens. And when its on its side its a whole lot easier to pick one up using the crash bar and handlebars then without. This is your personnel choice to add these or not all we can do is share our experiences with you.

Good luck with our choice.

No one mentioned they can help save your leg if a car T bones you. I know 2 people who lost their legs because of that. It can add some more protection.

Good point. Damn it. I don't know. They're just so ugly.

Get them in black if you think they will blend in better with your color scheme. They won't be as noticeable then.
Yeah, true but I've got black denim and chrome. I've found this bike doesn't look good with shiny black parts. Gotta either go chrome, or convert the entire bike to all black instead of chrome (which isn't my thing). So, I either need to get over it and get chrome ones, or forget about it

I haven't read all of the posts yet but why not get them in Chrome or the shiny black and have them powder coated powder coat will be a satin or dull black finish just my two cents worth.

I have Chrome ones on my silver 2015 SGS and I have had to use them to pick the bike up and it makes a world of difference much easier to get the bike off the ground with that said I hope I don't have to use them again. Here's a pic.
