Opinion. Do you think saddlebag guards mess with the lines of the bike?

I think they look better without them, and on a side note depending on your exhaust your pipes might hit before your bags anyway.

They also make great handles to lift your bike up if you tip it over lol:cool:

Dropped my bike and it slid a ways a week after I put a set on my bike. I love the look of mine (black/black) but even if I didn't, I see the worth of the investment.

It's a saving grace... like em or not... they work.... and save your bags. I have to remove mine with extended bags... they just didn't look right at all....and worthless at this point...

Needless to say... they are going up for sale now... LOL ( lil pitch...)

Looks like these bars cost about $185. so they're pretty cheap insurance. Does anyone know the cost of a standard bag replacement, or the cost to repaint one that's been scratched up in a basic fall over drop?

I think a color matched bag is about 500. I think the latch covers are legacy bagger and he can do anything you want. Hulkss had a post not to long ago with his address

Yes, in my opinion, they do detract from the clean lines of the Street Glide, but I like the idea of them protecting the bags, and of using black ones if your bike is black.

If it's another color, you can paint them the color of your bike using standard auto body techniques. If you're quesy about painting over chrome, a chrome shop can remove the chrome, then etch prime and top coat as usual. I have painted over chrome many times with excellent success.

Another note: If you tip your bike over and need to pick it up, these are a perfect place to grab along with the handlebar!

Spaz where did you get the USMC saddle bag latches?

Man I have a real problem. Because of this forum and all the great upgrade ideas you guys have, I keep spending $$$$ Got a set ordered will be here in a week.

I think the Factory 47 Anarchy bag guards look great on mine, and match the Yaffe Monkey bars quite well. IMG_0610.jpg
