Rear shocks, advice needed.

Just changed out stock for Ohlins HD039 on my 13 FLHX. Huge difference. Front end is up next. had air shocks were molar busters...

I've legend Revo A and not much impressed. I'm wondering if Indian springfield shocks work on my SGS. It freaking rides so smooth. I don't like their motor tho. I had Indian chieftain but traded it for SGS in 3 weeks.

Why were you not impressed with the Revo-A I've seen lots of good reviews and some bad. They are pricey. I have a friend who was so turned off by the overall ride of his SG that he sold it and bought an Indian which he loves. Thanks

It is definitely huge improvement from stock shocks. No doubt about that. But it's not plush ride like I'm looking for. I had Chieftain and it had 4 inch of rear shock travel. It soaked up all bumps and ride quality was really plush. SG fits me much better than chieftain and that's why I made the switch. Also there was reverse available for SG(I have motor trike reverse, but will change it to Baker reverse when I get M8). Now only if I can find amazing shocks with 4 or more inch of travel, my glide will be perfect.

The street glides have a reduced ride height, could that be the problem? Not enough suspension travel? I hope there's a solution cuz I'm really tired of riding my '14 SGS that rides like a freakn 4x4 truck!

I just installed Legend REVO shocks on my 14 SG to replace the Harley air over oil stock shocks. Truly unbelievable difference ! 2 up or single they continue to amaze me. I have run Progressive shocks on my Dyna's in the past and they were nice as well but the Legends have made the SG perfect. Don't work for them or get a kick back but it's worth every penny ! and... lifetime warranty and... made in USA !

Pleased to hear this. I just ordered the RevoA's for mine. Looking forward to the improved ride!

I use SuperShox. If I had to do it again, I'd buy these again. I've also got the HD Premium cartridges up front.

I'm new to this and have read hundreds of pages of forums on air ride. I have a few questions if somebody can help.

Currently I have a 2006 street glide with a 21 inch front wheel and extended bags. I weigh 240 pounds and the girlfriend weighs approximately 150 pounds.

I'm looking at going with either Dirty air or Skully air. Dirty air offers the fast up tank option as where Skully doesn't which is a feature I want.

Here's a list of my worries if somebody can please help me out.

1. Several people have stated that at full extension the dirty air and skully are both hitting either the axle nut or the mufflers. Are there any fixes for this? One person said they put lowering blocks on it to keep this from happening and haven't had any problems with it. IMO that would eliminate the safety stop feature of bottoming out in a emergency situation if you were to loose all air pressure.

2. A lot of people are saying that you have to ride at a very high air pressure which makes the ride quality very stiff and uncomfortable if riding two up with a lot of weight, is this true? I live in Indianapolis and we do a lot of street riding and touring around our state (the state with the worst and most pot hole filled roads in America) with he occasional yearly trip to the dragon.

Honestly I just want a better ride quality over the blown stock shocks and am looking at these two companies because I can not afford the shotgun system even though I would own it in a heartbeat if I could.

Thank you in advance for the replies and guidance everyone.
