I was wondering if I put some Rinehart True Duals on the Scoot if I need a Fuel Managment System, which I will buy down the road anyway just dont have the funds at this time, or can I just have the stock ECU remapped? Want the better sound right away but can't afford Fuel Managment System, New Stage One AC and True Duals all at once.

I ran my true duals for a couple of years with just a stage 1 upgrade. I got a tuner later. Make sure you get the 4" pipes.
I believe they still make the 3" good luck!

As a general rule of thumb anytime you are changing something on your bike that will alter the air:fuel ratio (ie: head pipe, air cleaner) it is HIGHLY encouraged that the bike be re-tuned either manually on a dyno or with a Fuel Management System. By not doing so you run the risk of 1) the bike not performing well 2) discoloring the pipes which is NOT covered under warranty since this is a tuning issue and not a chrome defect.

While it is possible that like Bill you can run them for a while without them discoloring, I feel that is quite risky to leave this to chance and potentially ruin a nearly $1,000 set of pipes. You can get a good fuel management system (ie: Power Commander V or FuelPak) between $260-$340.

Good luck with your purchase!

Check with your dealer to make sure they have a download for your bike with the Rineharts and particular intake you will be using. My wife's sportster has the screamin eagle stage one intake with screamin eagle II slip ons and we had the dealer do the download on her ECU. The bike still ran too lean so I tried adding XiED's. These helped a little more but a fuel management system with a good tune is really the best answer. Good luck and have fun.
