The screen in the Boom audio is flaking. Anyone else have or seen this issue?

It’s a screen saver like a lot of people use on a cell phone.

It started happening to mine (2017 FLHXS) a few months ago. I was told by my dealer that it is a screen saver that can be replaced, but at this point it's almost all flaked off. The head unit sucks anyway - was already obsolete in 2014 and the MoCo took until 2019 before it came into the current decade. When it dies (and it will), I'll replace it with something decent. The aftermarket has filled the void.
I have decided to let it go and see what it looks like once it is all off. I can see the four corners of the edge of the screen protector. It appears to be much thicker than what is flaking.
