I know this topic has been kicked to death!!! But I haven't seen any news or feedback on a couple of seats I am looking at to improve my comfort and overall rideability of my bike. I tried a Mustang Touring seat about a year ago and it pushed me too far forward. I want to feel like I am sitting in the bike not on the bike. A little lower position I also desire. The below listed seats look like they might be able to accomplish this for me. Can anyone offer their thoughts on these few seats and tell me which they prefer and why? Your help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Danny Gray Buttcrack
Roland Sands Flatout Boss
Mustang Wide Tripper
La Pera Bare Bones

I did a LePera Monterey. Its a little more comfortable. Might be more noticeable on a longer trip, which we haven't done yet. Not sure if this is typical of LePera seats, but the Monterey sit you higher up. I'd guess somewhere between 1/2 and 1". It was pretty noticeable as soon as I got on for the first time. I'm used to it now.

For what the LePera cost, I think a nice sheepskin cover might have been a better choice. Comfortable and cheap.

I'll give my 2 cents. I have the 14 FLHXS and desired the same positioning, down and back a bit. I sat on a few and decided to get the streetglide CVO rider seat. Position achieved, down and back. I like where I'm at and it's great for short trips and around town. Looks great too. However, long rides are a pain in the a&&...literally.
I also bought the LePera silhouette because I ride two up occasionally. Very comfortable, I like where I'm at as far as being back a bit but I'm maybe an inch higher than the CVO rider seat.

Thanks RoadWarrior and SGS Mark. I definitely don't want to sit higher but back is good. Hoping to hear some more thoughts from others!

I have the Lepera Daddy Long legs. It will set you back about 3" and down 1 1/2"

How is the DLL for long trips? I'm 6'3" and start feeling it in my tailbone after 100 miles or so...stock seat.

Gunner, I like the sound of the 1.5 down but " back I might be a little short. I am 5'9" but I think I could take it. What are your thoughts? How about comfort? Like corey, I also want to be able to ride for more than a "tank-full".

Try an Ultra Low seat if you want down and back, I went with a regular Ultra seat and it raised me up a little, but it is comfortable for both me and the passenger.

How far down and back? Is that the only seat you've tried?

I am vertically challenged and have the Ultra Low seat and a low profile primary cover. The combination put me firmly flat footed but I hate the look of the seat. It is extremely scooped. Comfort wise, so far, it is fine. Of course the longest I have been on it non stop is only about two hours.

LePera Bare Bones and the matching passenger pillion on my bike. I am about 5'10" and the bike is much more comfortable to ride. Not sure how much farther back it put me but it put me low enough to easily flat foot both feet at stop lights with a slight bend in the knee so I feel much more in control of the bike.

Longest I have ridden is about 2 hours and no complaints.

I have the Danny Buttcrack solo but I don't like not having a little lift in the rear for comfort. I have to basically hold on to my bars. It's for sale as we speak!//images.tapatalk-cdn.com/

FLHX14, did you find a seat yet?

HD's Low-Profile Solo Touring Seat, Part Number 52000249 will drop and move you back. So far, I like the fit and it's more comfortable than stock and better looking. Haven't had it on a long ride yet, so not sure how a few hours in the saddle will be. Stock would let me know within a hour or so it couldn't be any worse!

I have not yet. Maybe by spring season I will have something. Thanks for your opinion. How does it look on your bike? Let us know when you ride for a "tank full".

Try meancitycycles.com They can build your seat to fit you how you want it to. And it's cheaper than a new seat.

Below is a good thread from a discussion last year. I have some pics posted for a HD seat for the passenger, but there is a lot of other good references for seats.

Thanks danoday. I have had an Ultra before and know the seat is comfortable. But I don't want to sit higher on my SG. I really think that the Low Profile is going to work for me, I hope! I posted a thread yesterday specifically about HD part # 52000248 and 52000249.

Installed a Mustang low touring seat on the bike, yes I have short legs, but the real reason is my bride wanted something wider than the stock seat.

The seat is ok, but I feel I can cover more distance with the stock seat.
