A fellow HOG in my chapter has just fitted the Screamin Eagle fat spark plug wires and claims he noticed an improvement in the acceleration.
Now hee has a lot of money to spend which I dont.
Anyone had any experience of these wires or is it a case of B/S?

Could be like spending a fortune on Hi Fi cables - if yu spend that kind of money there HAS to be an improvement in sound!!!!!

I swapped out the OEM plug wires for a set of Taylor 8mm plug wires and noticed absolutely zero performance gains. It is important to note that I didn't swap them out for any performance-driven reasons but instead because I wanted to add some color to the motor area.

Anyway, that was my personal experience with changing plug wires on my '10 Street Glide.

It has been awhile since we discussed the wear issue on a spark plug wire. There is a previous thread on this subject. New members that are not aware of this potential problem should read this thread. Maybe one of the administrators will post a link.

Its an easy fix too. Get some wire loom (3-4 inches is all), two small zip ties and reach under the tank, just above the spark plug, take the wire and inspect it for wear. Wrap the wire loom around the spark plug wire where it touches/is worn and using the two zip ties to hold it in place on both ends. Done. I've done it for several others that have the problem.
