Sweet. Sorry to bug ya with all these questions, but I have one more. What type of wire can I use to plug in here?

....(then the spade connector will clamp at the other end)

10-12g wire will be fine... just make sure the spade connectors are the right gauge for wire and they fit into the factory connectors

Ok. My speakers arrive tomorrow. Found this in the audio section of the blog, another guy did this exact thing. I'll make my way to Home Depot for the spade and wire

Sorry if this is a silly question, but if you just upgrade the speakers for better quality, will I hear the difference?

OR is the installation of a power amp really necessary?

You can try it with the Kappa's.... Not sure how much power they demand to sound 'better' than stock... but it's worth a shot. I don't think you will be disappointed though.

The kappas don't "require" an amp but to get the most out of the speakers, it says you'll want an amp. I have the RF 300W. Not too expensive on Amazon. I turned the amp all the way down after I finally got my speakers installed, sounded ok, once I started to crank up that amp, my god. The sound was awesome....

It was surprising to me just how pitiful the stock sound system sounds. Back before Boom ll systems, a friend of mine added the Boom l speakers and their was hardly any difference. Which ever brand, you choose, new speakers AND and Amp are the way to go. Listening to a system in the showroom or outdoors with the engine off is not the same as cruising at 40-70mph and trying to hear a quality sound system.

I had the boom 1 plus amp. One they blew out twice, second the Infiniti kappas sound 100% better!

Good job! Make sure the cones clear the pod edges during operation.... important that they do....

Yup did that once I finished. Couldn't have done it without your help. Appreciate it. Believe it or not it was easier putting the bike back together lol

Question. I'm getting too much bass depending on music. Bass is turned all the way down. I played with the gains and the hertz???

Going back thru your posts... are you still running the RF amp and are you flashed or running line levelers?

Still have the RF amp, and the dealer flashed it

I had the same problem with my RF amp. I adjusted the RF amp...gain & frequency until it was too my liking. Can't remember if I set the pass filter switch to anything but I don't think so.

Go back and reset your gains and check your filter settings.... do you remember what you told them to flash? 8 speaker ON / 2 amp ON seems to have the flattest EQ curve.

Also... when you had your flash done initially... did you check which BINFILE was loaded after the flash?

I had the dealership follow the recommended flash per RF. And as far as the BIN file, who knows, I didn't know much about this stuff til I joined this forum....

when you say filter, is that a button? I played with the frequency and gains.

Not up to speed on the RF amps.. but you should ( may ) have something along the lines of HPF ( High-Pass Filter ) and/or LPF (Low-Pass Filter ) and/or FR ( Full Range ). If you have any of these... you settings should be HPF OFF and LPF OFF and set to FULL RANGE.

In other words, you want full range of signal with no filters active. HPF will cut your signal to just high range freqs ( around 60-75Hz and up ) and LPF will cut your signal to allow only low freqs (around 60Hz and down) for example

Yes. It has those and it's set to AF (all frequencies) and if I remember correctly, the low frequencies are the bass controls right?
