Well I traded my '07 Ultra for a new '16 Street Glide Special. What a difference! Improved handling, acceleration, ride, brakes and stereo. Don't get me wrong, I loved my '07 but got a great deal and the time had come. I had my Ultra just right and with the tour pak detached was a great around town ride. Since we rarely take long trips and really didn't need the extra storage the Street Glide Special fit the bill.
Of course the personalization started immediately. The dealer installed the V&H power duals, Rinehart 4", SE Ventilator and tune along with the quick detach kit and backrest. Negotiated down almost to cost on the additions. I then powder coated the engine guard and horn added the lowers and went from there. Black floor board pans, black mini passenger boards, mini antenna, black headlight visor and Mutazu bag extensions. For fun I vinyl wrapped the cow bells. Worked pretty darn good. We will see how it holds up.
Just got my black powder coated console and fuel door back yesterday. It goes on today. In the future I see new grips, black levers, brake pedal and shifter. The biggest addition will be the new Biketronics 2180 amp and 7.1 speakers. Can't wait. The exhaust sounds deep and awesome but gotta have the tunes.
