Anyone know a good brand of speakers that I can bolt in that are better then stock? Not looking to upgrade tuner yet. I have a standard 2015 Street Glide.

What are your ultimate goals with the audio system? Have you checked out the audio forum here?

I have these from Biketronics, of course I added an amp (PBR300x3) as well which I picked up fairly cheap. I can drown out my exhaust noise at 80mph with 3/4 volume.

I put Hertz 6.5 speakers with the pbr 300x4 rockford fosgate. The speakers bolt right in without adapters, but it's a little bit of work to get the speaker pods off. The sound can be heard clear at 80mph on the Freeway.

I was wondering the same thing, I can add an amp if really necessary to push enough sound, but I am not looking to break the bank. These guys with $1500 stereo systems are way out of my price range. All I want is to hear the radio on the highway with a helmet on.

You don't have to spend $1500 like a few of us did.... there are entry level systems that will do what you want and should satisfy the need for you...

For example....

Level II: Best bang for your buck!

$600–Complete plug & play kit for stock Harley Touring – Focal ISC165 & Arc Audio KS125.2bx2 Amp with wire harness & speaker adapters & oscilliscope tuned.

Infinity kappas 6.5 were better sound than stock without an amp imo. They bolted right in as well

Yes Kappa 62.11i's are a good replacement and 2ohms. Many folks go this route and will improve sound quality over stockers for sure

It doesn't take much effort or money to improve on the stock system (CVO version not included).

Thanks. Will check out the Kappas. That's what I'm looking for. Not ready for a amp quite yet. Thanks guys.

wideopen ,,,,,,

darned good system right here http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=PSEK-180SP2-14SG as a complete kit for your 15 StreetGlide for less than $700 with forum VIP discount promo code ,,,,,,,

John, sounds like a nice system. Would this support the addition of a pair of saddle bag lid speakers if I wanted to add them down the road? Or is there something else you would recommend that would lend itself to an add on later?
Thanks,
FB

farmboy ,,,,

if you are thinking about adding the saddlebag speakers down the road, I would install the 4-ch amp now, and just use the front two channels of the amp till you are ready to connect the rears ,,,,

Hey guys, a buddy of mine got the boom stage II put in. It sounds good. I was thinking of doing the same set up, but my 13 inch apes are too close to the fairing to fit the boom stage II speakers. The speakers actually stick out past where the stock ones are. I refuse to move my apes because I love how they are and I don't like the look of them rolled back. The tweeter on the boom stage II sticks out pretty far too. For those of you that have put after market fairing speakers in, did they stick out past the stock speakers or were they set in the same place. Here is a pic of the boom stage II speakers
