Warning! 2014 HD Infotainment does not support Bluetooth headsets!

I hope this is not added redundancy to this thread!
Last night I downloaded the latest software version for the 4.3 system. I was also able to pair my Samsung S3 to it as well. I was never able to do so with previous software versions. I was able to view my contacts, text messages (and also have audio of the text play over the speakers) make and receive phone calls, etc. My question though is if you receive a call and pick up the call, you can here your caller over the speakers but they can't hear you speak? Is there another device needed (ie a bluetooth headset)?

So wired from the BT headset to the USB connection? If that's the case, that's ridiculous! Why bother having bluetooth technology on the bike?

No wired to a headset connection you have to buy extra.

Essentially Bluetooth without the wired headset is for streaming music from your phone to the scoot.

Correct. In the Infotainment software infinite wisdom, they chose outdated Bluetooth firmware. Until or IF they update that will we ever see Bluetooth to boombox headset options. This software package Harley, FoMoCo and others have chosen is a low cost, inexpensive product (for them!) which is another reason why the maps look the way they do. HD might have been better off "strapping" an Ipad Mini to the dash !
