What did you do to, or on your streetglide today?

Did a 2:1 with the stock exhaust header, just got back from a good ride and the lost torque from the slip- ons is back, feels real smooth now through the throttle power wise and still has a good bark.pretty happy with it.

just put on a klockworks tude fender from factorymatch in twisted cherry.paint match is spot on LOOKS GREAT20180716_175819.jpg20180716_175819.jpg

Picked up two seats off Craiglist last night from a guy that sold his Road glide and went to a trike. One is a touring tall boy that the guy had narrowed in the front where it meets the gas tank and the other is a badlander, both like new! I was mainly interested in the badlander since I had back surgery a month ago and my LaPera Sorrento seat hits me right on the incision spot and bothers me when riding so I figured I would get the badlander until the sensitivity goes away. My wife talked me into getting the tallboy to use when she rides for the extra padding. The guy was asking $100 a piece and offered them both to me for $150 so I couldn't pass up the deal. I haven't rode with the tall boy yet but mounted it up along with QD tourpak for the wife to check out last night and both of us are pretty happy with it, probably take a ride on it tonight. I have to say I like the 2" farther back seating position of the tall boy just sitting on it in the garage and my wife likes the bigger taller rear seat, we'll see after a ride. I put on the badlander last night and rode to work this morning and have to say I like it so far. It doesn't have the back support that my LaPera has but still feels pretty good, maybe a little further back but I'm not sure if it's as low. The weird thing is the bike felt like it took tight turns on the backroads much better this morning. I ride the same backroads to and from work and for some reason I felt much more confident to lay it deeper in the turn.

Took a 200 mile ride to escape the heat. Hit a few sprinkles so now my fairing and HALF my front Fender is spotted while the rest is just dusty. Well the bags are also spotty but that's from last week's storms blowing into my car port. So I guess my bike is 70% dirty?

Got fed up today when one of my favorite riding songs (war pigs) came on but it was absolutely decimated by static over my radio. Took my scanner out to the bike and did some playing (credit to radio reference forum for the tip). Pulled the headlight out and unplugged it, set the scanner to fm and selected a dead band. Then set the squelch until nothing came thru. Plugged in the headlight, and bam! Static hiss. Verifies (I hope?) that my eagle lights gen 3 headlight is causing the rfi. I'm going to order a sunpie thru Amazon and see if it does better. I've already tried a Rf filter (erroneously reported that it helped. Placebo?) and ferrite beads but none seem to be helping. An oscilloscope might help look for noisy power if only I had one.

My passing lamps are also eagle lights but I wasn't able to tell any difference from on or off. I did the same test (squelch set to absolute lowest for no noise, bike on headlight unplugged then turned on passing lamps) and probed around with the antenna but nothing made it hiss. Note I've also got my Harley whip tucked into the Fender.

Went out for a ride, decided then to take the long way around. And of course I left my sun screen on the kitchen counter so now my arms are cooked.
Total distance was 240 miles.

You have been getting down AZ! My 2018 is 10 months old and I have only logged 2500 miles. I haven't ridden in the last couple of months though. Hopefully I will be able to get some miles in before the end of the year.

I always thought backrests were for old guys and that they didn’t look cool. Guys look, I took one ride on my bike after I installed it and I was in heaven. Omg, it is the most comfortable thing ever, can’t believe I’ve been riding for this long without it. I absolutely love it!!!!!

Had the opportunity to demo various sized Klock Werks "Flare" windshields on my '18 SGS.

I'm 5'9", short inseam; 30-31", long torso, and I wear a helmet. I like to be able to see "over" the windshield. I currently have the 7" Harley Windsplitter on my SGS. It works find below 50, but as I approach highway speeds and at highway speeds, the buffeting is very noticeable and after awhile gives me a headache. I'm not looking for a "quiet" pocket of air, I'm just looking for "smooth" airflow. I have a removable windshield on my FLSS, which necessitated the "fangs" to get rid of the buffeting. I have no issues riding my FLSS on the highway without any windshield for extended periods with the air hitting me on the chest and helmet, as long as the air is smooth. I've also had numerous ADV bike where I'd usually have to buy 3 different systems till I found one that works.

My local shop is part of the Klock Werks demo program. I tried the 6.5" and the 8.5".

The 6.5" - It's actually taller than the Harley WS Allows cooling air to reach me. Works well till about 60 mph when the buffeting starts to get bothersome, By 75 mph it's barely better than the Harley WS. Or at least, if there is a reduction of buffeting, it's not noticeably so. On the downside, the distortion where the compound curves is is very noticeable. BUT it's low enough you forget about it or don't notice it when riding. And you'll most likely never had to look through that section.

The 8.5" - With this shield I really had to sit up straight to comfortably see over the shield where I wanted to. IF I slouched, like I would during a long ride, the edge of the shield was right at eye-level. So already a big negative for me. The distortion "line" where the compound curve is much higher due to the taller windshield. Not quite in the way but if you look through the shield, its noticeable. Performance was pretty good, It allowed enough air through at low speeds. At highway speeds it was much improved. While some buffeting started around 60-65 mph, I was able to go 80mph before it became the same "annoying" buffeting. So it seemed the 8.5" was better for quiet air, but having the top edge of the shield in my line of sight was a huge negative.

In the end I didn't buy either. The 6.5 didn't do what I wanted at Highway speeds and the 8.5" had me looking right at the top edge. Now that I've demo'ed a few, IF I was to buy right now, it would be the Klock Werks 6.5 as it is slightly better than the Harley WS 7". With all this said I've got an 8" Freedom Shield on order. Hoping it's better...

So this just MY experience... YMMV....

Have you added the fork fangs to your bike yet ???? One of the first things I added to mine and they make a big difference. I'm 6-1 and added the 10 inch wind splitter before I left the dealership. Running a clear view windshield now and really like it. Been thinking about a change because the clear view has a crack in it at the fairing bolt but it's been there for 2 years and hasn't spread.

I was hoping to fix the buffeting without going to "fangs" as I did on my FLSS. I really don't care for the way they look on my FLSS, but they might be okay on the FLHXS. The other thing is Harley only makes the fangs in "chrome". My SG is a Special which is blacked out. I took my last set of Fangs to a place and had them powder coated black. Reckon' if thats what it takes, thats what it takes. Thanks!

You could always make a set out of plexi glass and test it out to see if it's going to work first for you. Or some of those cheap cutting boards at Wally world just to be sure. Or buy a set use packing tape around bolt holes and give them a test if they don't work return them. Pretty sure it will get rid of the helmet slapping your getting now. Understand the look thing but I don't care I want to be comfortable while riding between 55 and 100.

Good luck in your choice and testing keep us posted and maybe someone else will benefit.

Last week I noticed a few spots of oil under my bike.
I couldn't find any leaks but the lower right hose going to the oil cooler was oily.
Ran it up to the dealership and they said it was a bad hose.
Ordered the part.
I rode it back up on Fri even though it was crazy windy and only 55F out!
They fixed it up and sent me on my way.
My warranty ran out on Sat!
Talk about timing...
