For those of you still on the fence after all of Spazz's per$onal effort$, heres something to investigate:

The HD Dealers now have a new Sound demo Kiosk with stock speakers / Boom l speakers / Boom ll speakers + HD's Boom amp. You can plug in your tunes and select each setup individually and hear the difference. Obviously the Boom ll + Amp selection sounds the best. Now-think how much better than that the after market setups sound and most are actually cheaper than the HD options. just sayin . . . .

Was at the stealer heard them, not impress. You are better off with the aftermarket systems and much cheaper than HD. And the way HD is a "KIT" means you still have a lot of extra parts to buy from them!!

Good point Nelly. We all KNOW about "the extras" when buying Harley.

I know im beating a dead horse im all in for the focal set up ive been looking at kits for about 6 months+. and I know Spazz has his set up right and seen all of his videos but my biggest issue with the focals is water I love to wash my bike and just be able to spary it with a hose and not worry about the speakers, can the focals stand up to a rain storm or even the normal wash? help me get over the hump here guys thanks

I may of started it, but you really stirred the pot Todd. lol

In all seriousness... THANK YOU Bryan for pointing me in the RIGHT direction.... I know it would have cost me severely in the end not being happy and having to buy it all over again...

I kept my factroy grills on my faring for this very purpose.. I am anal about keeping my sled clean... as long as you don't point directly at the speakers, you will be fine....

They will be fine in the rain... with factory grills.... it's not being DIRECTLY HIT with water.....

I currently have the booms in there now could I keep using those grills? Or just switch back to the factory ones? And is it even worth doing the saddle bag speakers I know you did yours but I'm on the fence with replacing them since the majority of the sound you hear is coming from the front fairing. I plan on ordering up the front focals now that you said that but, is it worth doing the rears at the same time? Or just stick with the front and amp the rears that I have now?

Well let me tell you with just the focal speakers just up front make a difference but all together with 4 make a big difference. I'm going to use my fairing speakers for a while and see how they work before buying the whole set up like Spazz but if I had a passenger I would do it tomorrow. After getting the right flash from the Harley dealer oh wow mine sound good where you have to step back from it but the 4 speaker you have to hear for yourself it will blow you away. The video does no justice to how they really sound in person.

Well I guess I'm going to have to set up the order on Monday for the front and rears but what have you guys done with the tweeters that come with the front speakers?

K2 series 165 KRC's have the tweeters mounted... this is what Bryan, TomA and I have... they are a separate component, but are mounted on a center bridge post.

The K2 series 165 KRX2's are separate components,

If I went with the krx2's I've been looking at possibly buy the grills for the boom stage 2 so I can pull the tweeter out and put the focal one in but I haven't seen any of the grills yet to know if the tweeter would fit in there

I kinda doubt that the Focal tweeter would fit in the Boom II grill... Your best bet is where your faring mirrors are at....

Thanks....

Is there anything on the market currently that is water proof that can compares to the focals?

Thats a tough call.... You might want to look into Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine Series... I run their 157-2 5x7's in my lids and are considered waterproof...

I haven't compared the 'specs' on a 6.5".. but I did compare my 157-2's to the Focal AC570's... they are right in the ballpark and a little bit of a wider range of frequency. Sensativity is right around 92-94db for both and I went with Hybrids for waterproof qualities.

BikeTronics brand are made my Hybrid Audio from what I have read.

It's a new manufacture I've looked into them but not to Many reviews yet and I haven't seen any one install them on a glide yet to see if there any fitment issues

Has it been a pain to get ahold of Peter from soundz? I've been trying to get a quote from him for about a week and I haven't had any luck
