What does one need to know to pick a good audio system

Yeah... he is most likely buried and on the road. I have always had great success getting info and details in a timely manner.

I don't like the look of speakers in my saddlebag, so I want to stay with just two speakers in the fairing. Is the Soundz amp and two speaker setup enough of an improvement to justify the expense? Will I notice a big improvement on the highway?
I want more quality sound, but don't want to be disappointed in a costly two speaker setup.

Yes you will get a benefit from the the fairing speakers and amp. At less then half volume its louder then the stock set up. I listened to some pretty crazy sound system in Phoenix the last couple of days that J&M sponsored.

Well I took the plunge I ordered everything today and I'm planing on putting it all in next weekend after it rains a couple times here to get some of the salt of the road so I can take it in to get it flashed before I put it all in. They told me to use the amp 1 and 2 on and 8 speaker flash is that what you guys are using?

Yeah... 1.18.3 HU version and verify you have 135_OFF bin file after the flash.... if you don't know to check it. .. lemme know... it's easy and you can check current bin file now and then after the flash

1.Turn your RUN button ON.... PRESS AND HOLD your MUTE button on the radio
2. Turn your IGN to ON... WAIT for the confirmation msg... CONFIRM and release the MUTE button.
3. In the Audio Section... select EQ. this will list all EQ and Audio options. Scroll thru the list and find your CURRENTLY LOADED flash by looking for the one with the ORANGE BACKGROUND.
4. Note the filename.

Has anyone used the wiring that was run to the back speakers lids if the boom system was installed previously because I'd like to reuse it if possible instead of running the new harness that soundz sent me. Idk the gauage of the boom harness but it looks to be very similar to what soundz gave me.

As long as its directly wired from your speakers into your amp, you shouldn't have a problem. I am not sure of connections on the Boom harness, but it should just be a pair of speaker wires and their proprietary connectors that would be cut off and run into the amp.
When ever I pull everything apart I'm going to see if the harness to the back speaker is a y harness or if it's split all the way to the amp
