looking for suggestions on a windshield to get ride of the head bobble. taller? flare? and what one to stay away from

7" HD Windsplitter works well for me at 5'6" tall. Have you considered adding fork wind deflectors, fairing wind deflectors and a triple tree wind deflector to maximize your aerodynamics?

Why a Flare windshield from Klockwerks would be perfect! You can try before you buy at your local shop, then hit me up for a coupon and you can save 20% if you order directly from Klockwerks. I love my flare, totally different ride with it.

I'm 5'10" and like the 6.5" Klockwerks Flare after 3 years of use. Your torso height affects the overall fit. If you're a cool weather rider, add HD's fork wind deflectors (fork fangs) for maximum comfort and reduction in wind buffeting around your upper body.

I started with the 8 1/2" Klockwerks but the windshield vibration at 1500 -2000 rpms was very distracting. I switched to FREEDOM SHIELDS 8" Medium tint before I did a 4300 mile ride - love the shield. Customer service great, the reviews sold me.
If you go to freedomshields.net and select "Rider review and pictures" mine will be on top (2pics from Yorba Linda)
After you receive the wind shield - test ride it with the protective tape, if not correct size - send it back. The Quality and fabrication of these shields is superior.
I am 6' and 34" inseam.

I'm 6' 3" with stock seat and bars. One of the first things I put on was a 8.5 inch Klock Werks. It's perfect for me (No vibration issues with mine). It only took an afternoon to get used to the different look...stock screen looks great but quickly got used to the new one. Also, as others have mentioned on the site, I can finally hear the speakers at any speed...BIG bonus!

I highly recommend the Klock Werks Flare. But one thing to keep in mind. Make sure you can look over the windshield. The curve of the Klock Werks windshield distorts the view if you look through it.

Klock Werks shields are ridiculously priced. I bought a similar shield from Long Ride Shields for a fraction of the cost. Works great, stops buffeting, and looks good.

But the Klock Werks cost more, so they HAVE to be better....NOT

My $.02 on windshields.. First off you will need to try/buy a few. Reason being is everyone is looking for the same thing. We bought a FLHX and not FLXX for similar reasons and a tall windshield just doesn't look cool on a glide. I am 5'10' and a 7'' works ok at speed limit speeds for me but I rarely ride at that speed -and- it doesn't provide my face from protection if I can see over it. I have a 9'' clear from LRS that is my go-to shield. I have to look through it. I hate having dragonflys, grasshoppers and bees smacking me in the face at 80 and it provides much cleaner air for the rider -and- passenger. So, depending on what I'm doing I'll just swap them around..No one shield will do it all.
LRS shields are affordable enough to buy a few and seem to go on sale a lot..

7" LRS shield works great for me, I'm 5' 11". They are already reasonably priced and they run great sales all the time around holidays like 50 to 60% off.

I like the look of klock werks but the price didn't make sense. I went with a 10" LRS Javelin dark tinand it looks and works great. At any speed I've been at i am blocked from debris and the wind. Great windshield and I think it looks just as good as the KW

I found that with the LRS that has the lip on the top, I'm able to get away with running a shorter shield, because it directs the air up and over better. Best of both worlds. Shorter, better looking windshield with the performance of a taller one
