I've been waiting to see if anyone would bring this up...

Am I the only one that got the letter in the mail?

I just dropped my bike off at the dealership this morning. I'm kind of pissed because I think this may likely be the contributing factor to why I had to replace my clutch already on my 2016 FLHXS! At least it's getting fixed though.

Manufacturer: Harley-Davidson Motor Company

SUMMARY:
Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain model year 2016 Electric Glide Ultra Classic (FLHTCU), Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low (FLHTCUL), Ultra Limited Low (FLHTKL), Ultra Limited (FLHTK), CVO Street Glide (FLHXSE), Street Glide (FLHX), Street Glide Special (FLHXS), Road Glide Special (FLTRXS), Road Glide (FLTRX), Police Electra Glide (FLHTP), Road Glide Ultra (FLTRU), Fat Boy S (FLSTFBS), Softail Slim S (FLSS), and CVO Softail Pro Street Breakout (FXSE) motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the clutch master cylinder may lose the ability to generate enough lift to disengage the clutch, especially if the motorcycle has been parked for an extended period of time.

CONSEQUENCE:
When the engine is running and the motorcycle is in gear, if the clutch cannot be fully disengaged, the motorcycle may move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the clutch master cylinder for the presence of gas in the fluid, if so, the dealer will flush the clutch system and rebuild the clutch master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began July 25, 2016. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson’s number for this recall is 0169.

I'm at dealer now. They ran my ViN and said their was no recall on my bike. Told them
I received letter, I didn't, and they finally said they would do anyway.
I asked if their was only certain 2016's and no answer. Call before you go!

I got the letter and dropped off bike. They needed to "quarantine" it for 24 hours before working on it. Mine didn't need to be replaced.

2016 Street Glide Clutch Master Cylinder Recall

Lucky for me, I called HD today and both of mine aren't recalled. 2016 FLSS and 2016 FLHXS. Good luck guys. If you want to call and check, 1-800-258-2464. I'll save you some time. Option numbers on their phone system are 2,6,4. You're welcome.

Edit: I also didn't receive a letter for either one.

Same here. Got the letter, dropped it off. They tested it and said it was fine. No repairs needed.

I brought my SGS in for the 1K and they said there was a recall just the day before. They didn't even have the recall kit to repair. They had it a week and did the repair action. No issues. Also, don't know what the heck they did on the 1K but the bike ran way better than when I brought it in. SHOCKING!!!! I did go with Syn3 and checked what was involved and don't see what they would have done. Maybe a remapp? Anyone have this anomaly when they brought in for the 1K?

Just dropped mine off today. I did not know about the recall, but when I put the bike in gear it would move slowly while still holding the clutch. I turned the bike off, restarted it, and it worked fine so I brushed it off as a fluke on a brand new bike. Rode it the next few days with no issue. Then it sat in the garage for about 4 or 5 days, and the problem came back. I shut it off, turned it back on and the problem remained. After turning it on and off about 3 times the problem finally went away. Took it to the dealership and when they looked it up... NO RECAL for my bike! They have it now and are going to let it sit for a few days to see if they can duplicate the issue.

I received the recall, performed the outlined test, and it passed. I took it to the dealer, and they inspected and flushed the system and considered the recall fix complete. They told me not all systems under the recall needed to be replaced. I didn't have any issues before the recall or after the recall fix.

Sooooo, I hope it's all good.
