New LED Headlight from JW Speaker

Okay, so I understand it's plug-in-play with the proper wiring harness from Harley and no ring issues for the Rushmore 14 and up bikes. The 2 questions I have is 1, will I have to readjust / aim the headlight after installation? Question 2, as long as its a 7" Evolution 8700 Phase 2, and it shows say a 2014 Jeep Wrangler for an example will it still work on a 14-14 SG(S)?

You may have to readjust the angle. It's very easy to do though. There are three screws with springs under the head of the screws. Those are your adjustments. As for your second question, the light I bought also said it was for a Jeep Wrangler. I looked in the reviews and saw a few people commented about it on their street glide.

Is Hulkss still around I see he hasn't posted since January ?

Does anyone know if HD sell a black retaining ring (67726-08) for 14 SGS ?

I've just replaced the trim ring (67712-83B) with a black one but want a black retaining ring to finish off the light in all black ?

Hulkss is definitely around and has posted several times since January.

Folks, unless I missed it, is the JW Speaker EVO 2 PN 0549711 ?
I saw the harness PN

Thanks

I've seen a few of the 8700 phase 2 listed for sale as a jeep replacement headlight. These are the same, direct fit, as the HD version, correct?

Sorry, just read the whole thread. Got my answer...

Since I've about maxed out my spending on my bike, I'm looking at alternatives for headlights. Currently I have the Truck-lite and though its a great light with excellent output, I'm not totally satisfied with the look so I'm thinking about the Daymaker (PN 67700241) from Harley/JW Speaker, but the price is whats holding me back. In my search I ran across this light from eBay and was wondering if anyone's tried this or what they think?

Maybe I missed it cause I'm on my phone, I don't see that it's DOT approved.

Why not a JW speaker EVO 2

eBay or Amazon has them for $282.

The light on eBay is only $129. I know, you get what you pay for but I'm just wondering if someone else has tried them and if they're junk or not.

I checked that ebay link cuz i have nothing better to do at the moment and when i zoomed in on the pic i think i saw a DOT stamp and the lower right "corner"

I found another light on ebay the seller says is manufactured by Harley and its a Daymaker lamp. When I asked what the pn was, he replied that it's not really made by Harley, but a factory in China they have "direct contact" with....I will save some more money and buy a genuine JW Evo 2.

Probably a Chinese knockoff that has nothing to do with HD. I doubt HD has Chinese factories knocking out accessories.

I doubt HD has Chinese factories knocking out accessories.

If I remember correctly, 99% of all their chrome accessories are made in China, Korea, India, ...... somewhere overseas.
No one can afford to pay Fat, Lazy, American, Union wages for products. Hell, we can't even make stuff anymore. Even if we did....Then there's the EPA and FDA and ACLU and NCAA and .... oh hell, you get the picture.

Don't get me wrong......... I love America and the freedoms it provides..... but we are killing ourselves.

Peep this:
http://www.hdforums.com/forum/general-harley-davidson-chat/302563-how-much-of-a-harley-davidson-is-made-in-china.html

Simply google "Harley Davidson accessories made in China" You will be shocked and pissed off.
https://www.google.com/search?q=harley+davidson+accessories+made+in+china&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Most all the motorclothes are made offshore or down "south".
http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/riders-gear-clothing-accessories/199833-chinese-harley-clothes.html

Simple economics. If we built it or made it.... it's too expensive to buy.

God bless America.... we need it.

Edit.... all non-US (including Canada) Street 750s and 500s are made overseas (India). This allows HD to avoid heavy import tariffs in the 2nd most populous nation in the world.

I'm sure there are other items and reasons.... You know it involves $$$$

Sorry for the rant.... it pisses me off knowing this stuff.

Back on topic:
I desperately would like a better headlight on the '15. It's bright and wide, but doesn't project very far on low. High is good, but low sucks azz.

Probably worded that wrong....they probably don't have chineses factories knocking out accessories for 1/4 of their retail price...unless the factory making them is knocking them off, which is pretty common. Even for HD it would be nearly impossible to shut them down.

That's the risk you take when you send your manufacturing offshore. If your product is popular, they will knock it off and before you know it, it's all over eBay for less than your cost.

In the case of this headlight, isn't the Daymaker made by JW Speaker? They probably outsource manufacturing as well, but that's beside the point. The 8700 E2 is all over Amazon for $260 give or take. The 8700 probably fits a lot of vehicles as well as HD. HD takes the same light, puts it in a HD box and doubles the price.

Batist Automotive on Amazon. $238.00 free shipping. Received mine in four days. Other riders in the club seen mine and are now ordering one also.
