One hundred twenty cubic inches!

2 different bearings that perform 2 different jobs, the Timken is good for lateral loads, while the roller bearing is good for radial loads. A tapered roller bearing can do both, but it has to be shimmed to a "fit dimension" in order to perform the lateral load.

What size throttle body and injectors are on the factory built 120 motors?

58mm TB and 4.3 injectors ( or is it 4.7 ) I can't remember off the top of my head.... TB and injectors come with the 120ST.... not the 120R

That's very interesting. I was figuring the injectors would have been 5.3 gps at a minimum, seeing as how they're recommended for over 100 rwhp.

No biggie Spazz, I just wanted to check with a few 120 motor guys to see what intake setups you guys were running. I think I'm going to run the SE 58 mm tb and the 5.3's. I want to make sure that I have enough injector for my build without being too close to max duty cycle.

Lemme do a little diggin..... I don't want to steer you wrong...

Thanks hulkss and Spazz. I knew one of you guys had the answer.

hulkss, I have a few more questions for you.

1. Did you have to bore out the mouth of your air cleaner backing plate to match the inlet flange of the SE 58mm tb?

2. Are you still venting the crankcase back into the tb, or did you modify the backing plate and vent to a catch can?

3. What parts were transferred from the old to the new tb?

Thanks

1. Harley sell's 58mm air cleaner backing plates.
2. Catch cans are of no value if the breather valves are working properly and you use synthetic oil. I use the standard crankcase venting system.
3. My guess is they transferred the TMAP sensor.

I bore A/C backing plates on most big motor, big t. body builds here.not a big deal.i agree that if your not sumping & breathers are in good working order, you really don't need a catch can,but at higher RPM`s,you can get a slight mist.on my personal 124",ide rather not run them to the A/C,so i run them to a small can

prodrag,

Can you post pics of the catch can setup on your 124?

Well...I got the 120ST out of the garage twice now (Minnesota weather). I'm running the factory download tune and it runs great. There is a LOT of power on tap here. Every time I twist the throttle the front forks top out. This crate motor is the best mod ever!! This is what I've always wished an H-D would run like. The new SE high flow exhaust with Street Cannons sounds perfect to me. Not too loud, not too quiet, just right.

The engine is mechanically as quiet and smooth as my 103, not enough difference to be worth mentioning. It likes to rev more than the 103, probably due to the 259E cam. Every time I run up to highway speed I'm going way way faster than I should. Traffic appears to be moving in reverse.

The bike's handling is perfect with the new Avon tires. I really like them. I hope the rear tire can last half of its 15,000 mile mileage guarantee.

Work and weather are going to interfere with riding for the next month and then I have a 6000 mile 3 week ride planned. This summer I'll start playing with EFI tuners. I'll compare the SE Street Tuner to TTS Mastertune and Powervision Target Tune if I can find the time.

Glad to hear you got a little seat time in.... it would KILL ME to have a 120 and not ride... oh wait.... I was there.. LOL!!! Wait til your break-in is over... oh my!

your post sounds great! Now all you need is to move somewhere you can ride all the time!

Now I'm getting jealous!

@hulkss

Been following this thread- Great read-
Can't wait to see your Dyno numbers on this build!

I did the 120St also - with all HD , except for the pipes -I went with D&D 2 into 1 Boarzilla. I,m Suppose to get a Dyno done soon in April.
