What did you do to your bike today?

Looking for white walls for my 2014. Anyone have any thoughts.

Got one baffle removed today. Took about 2 hours to do because halfway through that it started raining. When it stopped, I went right back at it. That fiberglass is a pain in the ass.

I think it'll sound pretty good based on my halfway done preview sound I got right now. I should have it finished up by tomorrow. Rain isn't helping me today.

Just finished working on the wife's 08 Fatboy. Dealer installed new front and rear wheel bearings, 30,000 mile service, then I installed new low front and rear shocks, new starter, new front chrome forks, throttle, clutch & brake cables, new battery, flushed the brake fluid. Now to detail it while mine is in for the clutch recall and Aux light warranty because of the lens fogging.

paint 1.jpg

So I wanted to add a little color to my dash area. Finally found a place that carried the Daytona Blue Pearl color. I received the kit yesterday, consisted of 4 spray cans; primer, base coat, mid coat and clear coat. My plan was to paint the radio trim and the base that surrounds the dashboard guages (I bought the kit from Harley $139). I decided to start with the radio trim, 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of base, 3 coats of mid and 2 coats of clear. The attached photo is the finished radio trim sitting on top of my saddle bag. A little disapointing to say the least as it doesn't match at all :( The place I bought the paint from says it guarantees the paint will match so I will be calling them later today......

In case anyone was wondering, the slippers in the photo are my wife's, not mine:)

Decided to polish up my baffle removal job today. Threw a bunch of flat black engine enamel on the inside of the pipes. I'll need to touch it up a little more here and there, but for now I'm happy. No more rust brown.

Looking sharp. What paint did you use? Interested to know how it holds up.
I used VHT engine enamel. Can says it's good for up to 500 degrees, I don't think the end of the muffler gets up that high, otherwise I would've gone with the "flame proof" header paint. I'll be keeping an eye on it to see how it holds up.

Checked over air filter trying to fix the oil slobber... it's getting annoying. Everything seems to be good. Oil is 5-6 squares down from full on jiffy stand when hot.

I used that to paint a BBQ I made and it holds up well enough . The BBQ gets up to about 600 so that prob will never be affected

Well, that's good to hear. The other reason I went with what I did is because they were out of the header paint anyway.

The bug bit me again today, I continued on getting it how I want it by adding a wind splitter 7" and black diamond grips. Had the chrome version on my last bike and loved them, but they only have them in black for our bikes. I think I like the black better on this bike anyway.

Not today but a couple days ago my most recent addition was the chrome engine stabilizer. That stock one just stuck out too much.
