Called Craig up at Clearview Shields in Colorado today and ordered a fresh windshield for the 2017. I have really enjoyed the anit-buffeting this nice thick shield a afforded me on rides the past 3 years. Its a good quality part and I can say its among the best out there:
Small-15 5/8 height
Smoke
Recurve
And right now 20% off! for Christmas.

Added HD heated grips as the dealership was running a free install deal. It was 11 degrees riding over there....not fun

Man I'd sure love heated grips... Even at 40 degrees my fingers are cold and stiff by the time I get to work. It's just harder for me to justify because I'd only use them for maybe 3 months a year, and only in the mornings.

Maybe I just need better gloves.

Saturday I rode some random back roads for 200 miles. I intended to buy a new helmet but after not finding one I liked in my size, I decided to replace all the lining and shield in mine. It'll be a new helmet, minus the new helmet price!

I was wearing some heavy duty gloves but was still cold as hell after 30 minutes. It's worth it...the settings go up to 6 and this is how that breaks down: 1 - warm, 2 - sweaty hands, 3 - needs to be 0 degrees or less, 4-6 is like holding on to a hot iron! They're well worth it

Took a short Christmas Eve ride in the cold (35 miles). My Olympia gloves were rated to handle temps as low as 40*, but temp today was 34* and the tips of my fingers were starting to tingle. That told me it was time to head in and shut it down. I still had a great time out there though.

Big blue sky and light traffic so I rode it to work this morning. It had been about a month I think since my last ride!

Drilled out my cat, chucked the factory mufflers, installed a set of Cobra NH 4.5" "Neighbor Haters" loaded a new map from the FP3 and went for a very fun ride ;0) Probably should have run it first without the new map to see if I could notice the difference but me being the lazy sort I am, I opted to just "get her done" instead. I had already replace the factory AC with a Kuryakyn Velociraptor AC. The total difference in power that came from the de-cat and add-ons and bone stock is impressive. The Cobras are awesome sounding pipes and at between $340 and $380 are well worth every penny and they do have an optional "quiet pack" baffles that you can install if you neighbors are not quite so understanding as mine.

Got my new tires installed. So far it's an improvement, didn't slip on the painted crosswalks or grab at cracks in the road. I always forget what it's like to have round tires! The bike drops into corners much easier now.

Now to see if these will last as long. 21k on the original tires was a surprise to me, and I'm Hoping for a repeat
