What did you do to, or on your streetglide today?

Guess its time to upgrade.

Just returned from a 4 day trip through the Chambersburg, Gettysburg, and York area of Pennsylvania. Of course we had to do the Vehicle Operations tour and Open House party while we were in York last Thursday and Friday! Great time with great friends.....we were once again invited as guests of the Pittsburgh HOG chapter. Cant say enough good things about those folks :)

Took it in for the 1k service, dealer threw that in with the deal..

Replaced my rear saddle bag speaker, tried replacing my front right fairing speaker(was having issues with both) but unfortunately did not have the right tools to get all the bolts off. Now to either get the tool or bring it to the shop

Took a 200 mile ride to decompress from a 7 day work week. Stopped at a friend's house on the way home to bug him for a little bit too. 1 day off was not enough but at least I enjoyed it!

Nothing today.
BUT, Tuesday she goes to Fuel Moto for her 107 build on Wednesday. Level B heads, S&S cam chain tensioners and a dyno tune.
I all ready put Woods 777 cams, Knight Prowler lifters and FM adj. push rods in last year.
To say my mind has tunnel vision is an understatement.
Pick her up Thursday. Then have to leave town Friday with the truck for the weekend.
Piss poor planning on my part.

Buckshot, you are going to have a huge grin on your face come Thursday when you pick your bike up from FM. Let us know what kind of power it makes on the dyno.

That is going to be a painful weekend... I'm really leaning towards 555s next year after I pay the bike off. The flat and middle ground torque curve looks like an awesome fit for my commutes and weekend rides. Trying to not even consider a larger displacement as I'll talk myself into it.

Tank lift and badge removal

Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Hlgsn,

What year is your bike? I looked at the tank lift and on my 2016 did not have enough clearance. I tried the DK Custom Touring model 2” lift with with optional deluxe pkg that pulls the tank rearward too. When I turn to fork stops the console would hit the tank. Which extact kit did you use?

Also, love the badgeless. How did you remove the badge, a heat gun? Did you have to paint the tank afterward?

Thanks.

2014 sgs.....dk 2 inch lift. My tank is pushed forward as far as i could. It could come back a fair bit for more clearance not sure of any changes in 2016 that would make that tank lift not work.

And yes heat gun for the badges. Go slow pull even so you don't pull it into the clear coat....or heat gun and saw it off with dental floss....just the tape residue left wd40 the heck out of it to clean it off the wash and polish polish

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m going to look at the tank lift again, maybe I did something wrong. I may not have the guts to try removing the badges. Any chance you can post a pic that shows the whole bike? I’m wondering what the profile looks like with the tank raised. Hard to tell on DK’s website. I love how it opns up the top of the rocker boxes.

Loosen the front top and bottom of the lift then loosen the 2 bolts on the back of the tank....this is where the option part of the lift goes...with everything loose the tank mount is slotted and you can move it a good inch or so forward and back...i put mine far forward so as not to push up on the nose of the seat and squishing my private parts.....slide it around i am sure it works on your 2016
