V&H Fuelpak FP3

Just got my FP3 Fuel moto breather and V/H Monster Rounds did the flash, gotta say it sure does run smoother no decel popping at all should leave it alone but going to play with auto tune might not make much difference since it runs great as is but I want to play with auto tune

Has anyone experimented with the Throttle Progressivity Settings on their FP3? I'm looking for feedback on which setting seems to provide the most responsiveness.

I have. I have tried all the settings. I currently have mine on aggressive. It may take some time to get used to so I would be cautious when first trying a new setting. It changes the throttle response allot

I just set my TPS to Aggressive, but haven't taken the bike out yet to test it. Can you describe what your bike feels like on this setting?

You will not have much lag on the throttle response. The Tbw tends to give a sort of throttle lag, this setting will take most of that away. I love the fact that we can adjust these settings with this tuner. You will definitely notice a change,

I have a newbi question, I will be picking up my stock 15 SGS when I get back to the states in October. Since I'll only have a short time to ride before the snow falls after picking up my bike, I won't be doing much as far as pipes or other mods. Would I see much benefit from an fp3 auto tune on a stock setup right from the get go? I know others have complained about how lean Harley has them set.

Absolutely!!! The benefits are great all around with the FP3. You can't go wrong.

For what it's worth, the 'Race 1:1' gives you the most responsiveness, but according to V&H's video tutorial on the subject, after hours of testing on the street and on a dyno, they recommend the 'Moderate' setting for most riders, and suggest the higher responsiveness settings be only used on the race track.

After completing my stage 1 upgrade, my bike feels so fast as is, I'm a little reluctant to mess with this! I can't really imagine needing to accelerate any faster at the moment.

I received my FP3 in the mail just after lunch .....

I went back and reviewed the tutorial video Ryan Urlacher put out .....

Went out at 3 PM and performed the install just like in the video.

The only thing I had to do different was turn Bluetooth off and on as my IPhone 6S Plus did not pair with the FP3 at first.

Other than that I just selected my stock exhaust & baffles and that was it.

Took less than 1/2 an hour.

Mine should be arriving this coming Wednesday. I've been reading all the posts and watching all the videos. Haven't found a bad review yet. Changed my exhaust a couple months ago under the impression that no tuning was necessary. WRONG!!! Looking very much forward to getting the bike running well again. Put Bassani, crossover, true dual head pipes and the DNA Megaphone mufflers on.

Thanks for all the great posts. I know it's a couple year old post...but all still applicable to a newb. ;)

I think you maybe misunderstood; just slip-ons won't require a re tune; but changing the headers like you did definitely requires it as you've removed the catalytic converters and greatly increased the exhaust output. Nice choices by the way. The FP3 will give you a great ride. Enjoy!

I'm still learning. Yes. I did misunderstand. This is my first HD. My first FI bike too. Have had carbureted metric bikes for the last 35 years. I can remove a carb and rejet no problem. All this electronic whatnot is a new animal for me. I'll get it figured out though...with y'alls help. ;)

FP3 arrived Monday. Installed yesterday. Flashed a map and will ride today. Have had the fairing dismantled and have today off to finish it up. Have a couple maps I want to try. Then I'll do the auto tune.

Emailed V&H and they told me to use the map for Dresser Duals with high output slip ons. Flashed the map and went for a ride. This is a different bike! Wow! Can't wait to run the Auto Tune. I can only imagine it getting even better. Engine has never sounded this good. I'm quite pleased so far.

I already have the FP3 installed and mapped for the stock exhaust and A/C .....

I have decided on V&H Dresser Duals & Twin Slash Slip-On's ..... and the SE Agitator A/C

If I purchase the stuff from Boardtracker I will be saving a pretty penny vs buying from the Service Department at my dealer ....

I wonder if my HD Service Department will give me a hard time about the FP3 already installed or should I pull it off before they perform the work?

Also, will they remap the existing ECU or try and sell me an HD Super Tuner (which of course I don't need)?

UPDATE: Thinking it over, I will probably install the SE A/C and let the dealer install the headers & mufflers.....

Did my auto tune today. The FP3 is awesome. Set the Rev limiter to 6200 and the throttle response to aggressive. Beat the hell out her today. More aggressive than I have ridden in a long time. Hit 118 mph!
Applied the tune once I got home so tomorrow I will see how it performs with the map saved.

So since I saved the tune (wrote to the ECM thinking it was good enough, but reading again, I saw way more cells learned by many more people here.); if I start a new tune based on the previous tune map. Do I need to hit all those cells again?

You can start a new tune but some of what you have completed won't show on the map. You have a record with your saved picture so just go tune some more. I played with mine for a couple thousand miles before I flashed what it had learned. You will learn a lot on how hard you can push it because I was way out side my comfort zone in the higher RPMs

Ok...just flashed the Auto Tune. Do I need to have Bluetooth on while I'm populating my map, or will it upload info to my app when I connect back in the garage?
