V&H Fuelpak FP3

Well just flashed my bike with the FP3 for V&H ProPipe. Installed SE AC today and will install the ProPipe tomorrow. Can't wait to start her up.

My bad JonesRus. I'm not sure what it could be unless you have something else plugged into the extra port behind the left side cover. I saw this once when my Tuner guy had his memory device plugged into my bike for 1 day capturing info for the Dyno.

The red light does not blink if I don't use auto tune. I use the monster round flash and no problem. It's all good

Jones R Us - I "think" that anytime you have something plugged into that data port it disrupts the system. I noticed the same thing on my dash when something was plugged into that particular port.
Spazz- any feedback from you when you had the FP3 plugged in? - Did you notice the red light on the dash behaving differently??

I did not have any red lights on the dash when in auto-tune with the FP3. Nothing was out of the ordinary for me... hmmmm

When I loaded mine yesterday for my new SE AC and V&H Pro Pipe I didn't see any out of place lights. All the lights were green on the FP3 and then your normal ignition lights, since you're supposed to have it turned to ignition, just not started.

Well I just read all 9 pages, twice. I have the SE Tuner and while the bike runs good cruising on the highway I haven't been completely happy with it elsewhere, probably a standard map the stealer installed. I downloaded the app and will play with it a bit, I like the idea of not having to mess around with a laptop and program I don't understand. Looks like you guys talked me into spending more money :p

No Scott14SG, just HAVING a Harley is THE reason to spend more money!!!! heh heh :)

Fuel Moto has great maps. I have been auto tuning there map and not much is changing. I'm using a PV btw

Yes I have the red light on mine with the FP3 auto tune running. It looks like the security light that flashes slowly. I have some more miles to put on till I'm finished with auto-tune. Hope it goes alway then.

I think I am going to have to give autotune a try also. I was able to get mine setup with the canned V&H map for the Pro Pipe, but seems to run too rich and I am having some backfires when I let off the throttle. Plus I think the gas needle is moving a bit more freely now than with stock.. ;)

The residue on the pipe should be a golden to dark brown. If you run autotune... be prepared to a slightly rough idle and somewhat less performance during the tune. The loss of mpg is normal... you increased your mixture... so its gonna go down... depending on your riding style.

Well might be a little darker than that, but seems in the ballpark...

Well I am going to be going on a 5 day ~1300+ mile road trip in about two weeks, I may just hold off until then as I should be able to hit a lot of blocks quickly. Understandable on the mixture and I figured it would some, plus as the pipe is new, I am probably hot dogging it a little more than I should cause I love the sound. :)

I ended up getting one, hooked it up last night and updated the firmware then loaded the map, couldn't have been easier. I just got back from a quick 10 mile ride and it's WAY better than the tune the stealer put in, a lot of the decel popping has been reduced and it seems much more responsive and generally runs much better. So far I'm a happy camper, still undecided on doing the auto tune or not.

It doesn't hurt to run auto-tune over the existing map.... the map is already saved in the FP3. The Auto-tune will write a custom map with the existing tune and fill an empty bank. Therefore, if you like the base map better than the auto-tune map, you can re-flash with the base map and you are back to square one.

I have a single decel pop immediately after I let off the throttle between shifts ... that's it...

Thanks Spazz, that makes more sense, I think I might give that a try after a few more miles. This has already taken about 90% of the decel pop away, now I barely get it when downshifting.
