Love my FP3. Easy install. My red dash light came on during auto tune but V&H said once I'm done auto tuning it would go off and they were right. Now that I have the RC COMPONENTS SLIPS coming V&H said to use there twin slash rounds. Can't wait

hey guys got a question for ya.. soo i installed a new exhaust yesterday on my 2014 SG. I installed a set of V&H Power duals header pipes with V&H monster round slip-ons , arlen ness big sucker air cleaner and went with the fp3 fuel pak. I downloaded the map and everything programmed like it should. I took it out today for a ride today and put about 100 miles on it. I noticed when down shifting I noticed a smell coming from the exhaust (almost) like a slight burning oil smell but there was no smoke, also felt a slight surge or slight hesitation when throttling. I brought the bike home plugged in the fp3 noticed the oil temp. was at 250 degrees, checked the trouble codes and there were two P0131 oxygen sensor low/engine lean (front) P0151 oxygen sensor low/engine lean (rear). my question is when replacing the two oxygen sensors could I have the plugs switched and would this cause these issues? obviously new to this side of things and trying to get a better understanding. unfortunately V&H is closed today and some insight would be appreciated.. thanks guys

OK...first... the smell is from the new pipe.. no biggy there....

As far as the O2 sensors... check them.... the black terminated plug OS harness under the right panel is for the furthest back and lowest O2 port on the PowerDuals head pipe... the grey terminated plug O2 harness goes up into the port off the headpipe on the rear cylinder....

Also... update your signature with your bike info... that way you don't have to keep telling folks details of your ride... thanks

Ok so i checked the o2 sensors and they appear to be plugged in correctly from your reply post. What else could cause the (lag) or the trouble codes? Thanks spazz i appreciate the info. I also updated my signature thanks for the heads up!!

clear the trouble codes... did you run your bike with the head pipe and/or slip-ons WITHOUT the tuner?

To Clear... put your bike in diagnostic mode... Press and hold the reset button THEN turn on your bike... don't start it. Watch the Odometer for display

ok I tried that and the odometer says diag that's all. should I clear the trouble codes with in the tuner itself? and no I didn't run the bike with out the tuner

Could the lag be coming from the sensitivity adjustment for the throttle in the FP3? just a thought.

It's possible... typically when you first flash a map... the throttle is set to CUSTOM.... change the setting and re-flash with an aggressive setting... see if that works on the lag

Mine is very responsive after the first flash set at custom and that was done yesterday right Spazz.

ok guys so I called V&H and spoke to one of their techs and I apparently DID have the O2 sensors backwards. I thought I had it in the right order yesterday SPAZZ.. I guess not :( anyways had to take it apart and switch em' they told me to clear the previous map and reinstall a new one. which I did.. went on a test ride and wow what a difference!! it rides awesome no more lag or surging.. all I heard was the deep rumble of the pipes.. even the wifey said she could hear my bike from blocks away.. yeah buddy mission accomplished. thanks again for the help guys. much appreciated

A little human error happens to all of us, hopefully we learn from it and move on. Good to hear you got it fixed and maybe you helped someone on here from doing it themselves.
