I just bought v&h dresser duels with cfr mufflers. And want to hear if fp3 are the way to go or have the dealer tune my 14. Any help. I just want to do this once. Still not sure on the air filter. I like the stock one. Plus I'm cheap

I am happy with the FP3... you dont get to know your true numbers of hp and tq... but you have a tuner capable of fine tuning your own setup more than once with no extra money needed. Map selection grows over time as they load more and more as they produce them.

$300 for the FP3 and tune yourself... or $400-$500 for a tuner you yourself cant tune with and pay another $300 plus for a dyno...

Any advice on an air cleaner or can I get by with stock. I like the stock look. And thanks for the info

I got the $150 AC from the dealer that changes the backing plate for 360 degree airflow and keeps the stock cover.

I like the Fuel Moto equivalent to the HD SE Kit. I tried them both. The H-D kit leaves some loose wires hanging under the gas tank and I did not care for the look of the cast aluminum breather mounting bosses. The Fuel Moto is finished black. The SE insert is available as a separate item from H-D. The Fuel Moto also pulls less hot air from the engine side with a better backing plate IMHO. All that being said, they both work OK.

After speaking with V & H's about FP3 auto tune. They recommended to auto tune as follows: follow promps, select MAP to auto tune. Ride bike approximately 1 hr. Screen will populate. Hit apply. Do that a second time. Hit apply. Ride for 1 more hour. Hit finish. Follow promps to flash. It worked well. Can I tell a difference? Not really. Pipes may show to burn a little more lean. Maybe a little smoother running at very low RPM's.

Clay... I populated about 85% of my table in around 400 miles... kept it learning for all variations of riding... cruise... putt... rev limit runs full accell and full decell. Rollons and WOT. If you just cruise... you wont populate the low and high ends of the table. I oftened checked my table to see what areas needed tuning and rode in those areas needed by watching rpms and TPS percentages... rhat worked well for me.

Thanks guys for all the info. I'm going to order the fp3 after the holiday. Please keep the info coming and any pic. If there is anything to see. Hope you all have a good, and safe 4th.

Thanks, Spazz. My ride consisted of mtn terrain in higher elevation, also dropped down into SC and hit the hiways. Done various types of riding at different temperatures. After the auto tune, I put approximately 700 miles on it. It felt like it ran better at very low RPM's but wide open throttle and acceleration it just didn't seem to perform as well as the MAP I loaded before autotuneing it. With that said, yesterday I retuned it to the MAP that I first selected. And it does seem to perform better. it seems to be more responsive. Good luck with your tune. Keep me posted.

I will... I get my new system tomorrow... V/H 2-1 Pro Pipe. FP3 has an exact map for what I have. I will flash it... run it... then try an outotune and compare..

I haven't tried the auto tune just loaded the map V&H sent for my set up and was happy with it from day one.

Get on your bad motor scooter and ride

Then you can stick with... you can also try the auto tune and if its no better or not as good, you can revert back to that one as its saved in your FP3
