Sturgis 2015 - 75th Anny! Who's going?

I am heading out on the 31st from San Diego, staying in Rapid City, will only be there on Monday and Tuesday. Doing a 4,000 mile ride: Zions, Tetons, Yellowstone, Beartooth and then Pikes Peak, Telluride and Grand Canyon on the ride back, can't wait!!

This is my first response to a post....
Leaving for Sturgis on July 27th with 4 guys. We rented a house in Deadwood. Heading from Columbus, OH...hopefully in Deadwood in 2 days. First time for all of us so we want to get out there to ride before the party begins. Leaving early...Aug 5th.
 
Be safe....we are leaving the Cleveland Ohio area on 7/29. Staying at house in Custer.

Since ya'all are going to Sturgis, it looks like all the highways, back-roads and other cool places are going to be empty. I'll have to make do with all those empty, wide open highways all to myself I suppose....

Actually, I'm meeting a nephew of mine from upstate NY who is riding out with some friends. He's never been to the Redwood Forest and its on his bucket list. I will meet him around the 6th August outside of Eugene, Ore and we'll all ride down 101 for a bit. If anyone's ever rode in that area, some tips and places to see would be nice. Not sure if he plans on camping or hoteling....After we ride around there for a couple days, we'll head over to Reno and pick up US 395 back to SoCal. He'll prob ride as far as I-15 and head up toward Vegas, Salt Lake City and East....Spazz, if you're in town, I'll introduce you to another jarhead....Both my nephew and his dad were in the Marines....me, the AF....they don't hold it against me. :cool:
 
Yea work interrupted my trip but the group I was going with fly's into Denver with a guy the transports the bikes from Miami maybe next year.
 
Aviator if your going down the 101 you should jump over to highway 1 at Leggit valley and ride it to Fort Bragg then go back inland on 20 or just keep going down the coast super good ride either way. You can ride 20 all the way to Nevada city then take 49 over the sierras to Reno.

Well if you make it into Fort Bragg there is a great pizza place on Redwood named bernillo's and riding anywhere in that area is great been there several times

Hey grayghost,
A group of us have rented a house in Deadwood as well. I think there's 8 of us with a few who might show up towards the end of the week. We are going to be on McKinley st.not too far from the casino. Enjoy the ride and be safe.
 
Can't make it this year, but have a friend whose son plays steel guitar for various bands he is dating Nikki Lane (and I think playing in her band). They will be opening for other band in Sturgis Aug 3-9. Check um out !
 
He (steel guitar) will be playing with Social Distortion at Buffalo Chip 8/5
 
I'm getting geared up for this trip.... this is the first I will be going and hopefully not the last... depending on how well I behave..lol. the wife will be monitoring me closely...hahaha
